Top 10 Under $10

So I'm sure most of y'all have seen the tag video on YouTube "Top 10 Products Under $10" so why not make a post about my favorite products under $10! I am always buying new products at the drugstore and I have accumulated SO much makeup that it isn't even funny anymore. But one of the biggest benefits is that I can share my favorite products of all the ones I've tried with you guys!

Revlon Age Defying Firming + Lifting Makeup: Walmart $9.99
This is my HG foundation, hands down! It has the most natural finish and medium but buildable coverage. Since I'm only 19, I don't need the "Age Defying"but it gives a very youthful glow to the face without being oily or greasy.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer: Walmart $4.47
To go along with the bright eyed look that I love, this concealer has a very slight brightening shimmer that makes the eyes seem more awake. I cannot go one single day without using it. It does not crease at all and has very good coverage without it seeming cakey or crinkly under the eyes. It can also be used for highlighting various parts of the face.

Sonia kashuk All Covered Up Concealer: Target $9.99
The Hidden Agenda concealer has been talked about on YouTube for as long as I can remember, and this is just an individual version of the palette. This is the typical pot concealer for blemishes and covering up different flaws. There are a few shades in the range to match each skin tone. It is full coverage and non cakey.

Milani Even Touch Powder Foundation: CVS $8.99
Even though I do not need more coverage after using a foundation, it is nice to have a setting powder that does not give a white-cast in photographs. The powder is very creamy and feels high end in comparison to other drugstore powders. It is great for setting the under-eye area as well as all over the face touch ups for when I start looking a little too dewy.

Essence Silky Touch blush in Sweetheart: Ulta $2.99
First, how can anyone beat a blush for $2.99? Much less a pigmented, gorgeous, and natural blush. This is a baby pink with a satin finish that looks so flawless on the skin since is is so easy to blend. The color matches any day to day look and gives the most perfect flush to the cheeks. The formula is very creamy and does not look powdery on the skin.

L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Iced Latte: Walmart $6.97
As a whole, the Infallible eyeshadows are great, but I use the shade Iced Latte almost everyday as a lid color or just an inner corner highlight. It is a pressed pigment that is creamy and has the most gorgeous shimmer. In my opinion, it is a dupe for Stila's kitten eyeshadow, another of my all time favorites. The shimmer gives the eyeshadow dimension in the crease, creating the illusion of a crease color.

NYC liquid eyeliner: Walmart $2.74
This is another steal from the drugstore. This is the only liquid eyeliner I will buy, and the price makes it even better! It is only $2.74 for an eyeliner that is perfectly pigmented, stays all day, does not smudge, and does not dry out. It is a brush tip with very fine brush hairs (great for winged liner) and a long handle that makes application very easy.

Revlon Brow Fantasy: Walmart $6.48
My eyebrows are very full and defined, so I do not need to fill them in daily. The brow gel in this product is the best I have yet to find in the drugstore. It is pigmented, fills in the gaps, and locks my hairs into place all day.

Covergirl Bombshell mascara: Walmart $8.94
I do not think I can say enough good things about this mascara! I recently discovered this and it is my new HG. The first side is the typical LashBlast wand and the other is a standard bristle brush. The combination gives eyelashes that look fake without a ridiculous amount of product. The mascara is not marketed as waterproof but it definitely takes a little bit of work to get it off the eyes. I definitely recommend an oil based eye makeup remover to take it off. Since purchasing my first tube, I have gone through 3 more! If that doesn't say that I love this mascara, then I do not know what does.

Maybelline Color Elixir in Petal Push: Walmart $6.94
I am normally not the type of girl that wears lip products, besides chapstick, on the daily basis. This is a baby pink lipgloss with slight shimmer. What I like about this is that it does not look like a lipstick even though it is very pigmented. It lets my natural lip color show through, but a little lighter than it normally is. I am a huge fan of the line as a whole, I just wish that the lasting power was a little better. Besides that, they are very moisturizing and provides a great flush of color to the lips.

Hope y'all enjoyed hearing about my top ten products under $10! Leave me some comments down below with some of your favorites so I can keep trying new things to review for you guys!

Review: NYX Glam Liner Aqua Luxe

I'm no stranger to NYX products, they have a great track record. Every eyeliner I have from them is pigmented and long-wearing; the Glam Liner Aqua Luxe liners do not disappoint

From L to R: Glam Nude, Glam Golden, and Glam Purple
I decided to pick up three, very different shades so I could see how well the range is as a whole. Each contains .10 oz of product and each of the shades are very pigmented. The packaging states that these are waterproof, and they definitely are. It takes an oil based makeup remover to get it off. The best part is that the glitter stays all day unlike some other eyeliners I have tried in the past

Glam Nude
The eyeliner is a brush tip with a long handle that makes it very easy to apply. The one fault that I find is that you need to wipe off the excess product from the brush before applying to avoid clumps of glitter/liner on the eye.

L to R: Glam Nude, Glam Golden, Glam Purple

Glam Nude is a champagne with silver microglitter throughout. It is great for brightening the lower lashline or as liner on the top of the eyelid for a very subtle effect.

Glam Golden is a olive color with golden shimmer. This is definitely my favorite and most used of the three. I can use it as regular eyeliner instead of a harsh black. Since I have green eyes, the olive color makes my eyes pop!

Glam Purple is a true purple with blue microglitter. This is the perfect lower lashline pop of color. That trend seems to be consistent every spring and I cannot wait to get use out of it when the weather starts to get warmer.

In the end, I definitely recommend these liners. I think the staying power is great and they are highly pigmented as most NYX products are. They can be used as regular liner or on the lower lashline for a subtle pop of color.

Review: Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream | Shade 15

I am a sucker for anything that is easy and simplifies my morning routine. After hearing all of the praise that the MUFE Aqua Creams were getting, I  decided to try one out for myself.

Sephora prices these at $23 each for .21 oz of product. Their website describes the color as "a taupe brown shimmer." It is a cool toned brown with a slight golden champagne shimmer throughout. This is almost an exact dupe for the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. Every Color Tattoo I have owned goes on dry and somewhat chunky, so I was hopeful the the Aqua Cream would be smooth and apply with ease.

This is one of the only cream shadows that I can apply without an eyeshadow primer and it wears all day. The duo chrome makes it seem as if there are multiple colors blended together even though it is one shadow. It can be used as a base for other shadows as well. My favorite pairing is the Aqua Cream as a base and applying YDK by Urban Decay over top.

I cannot speak for the other shades, but #15 is a definite buy! It has all day wear along with great color pay-off. I have had mine for about two months now and there are no signs of it drying up and it still applies as well as the first time.

Review: Tarte be MATTEnificent palette

A few days I stopped by Ulta and finally picked up this palette. I have been eye-ing it for quite some time and decided that it was a necessity in my collection. It was $36, which is not too bad for a palette with eight eyeshadows (two to be worn as eyeliner), a blush, and a double-ended brush.

As for the packaging, it is beautiful! It has a solid case and a snap closure. It is very sturdy and somewhat heavier than other palettes that I own.

Blush: Elevated, Eyeshadows (Top Row L to R) sand out from the crowd, peach for the stars, two plums up (Bottom Row L to R) pink outside the box, rose to the occasion, view from the taupe, Liner shadows (L to R): dream in chocolate, don't stand black

All of the colors are completely matte and non-chalky. The blush is a gorgeous brown mauve that looks natural on all skin tones.

Sand out from the crowd is a light peach color that is the suggested base color. It is very pigmented and blends beautifully.

Peach for the stars is exactly that, a warm peach lid color. It is a perfect color to warm up any look.

Two plums up, the darkest of the main shadows, is a rich dark plum that compliments the other lighter colors in the palette. It is the perfect dark color to smoke out an eye look.

Pink outside the box is a light pink lid color that is also great to highlight the brow bone or inner corner.

Rose to the occasion is the most perfect crease color in my opinion. It ties in all of the warm purple-rosy tones of the other eyeshadows and blends flawlessly!

View from the taupe is a light cool taupe color that is also a crease or transition color. It is one of the lesser pigmented colors of the palette

Dream in chocolate is an extremely pigmented dark brown shadow that is suggested to be used as a liner. It is a great shadow to smudge out liner and soften the harshness of the line.

Don't stand black is the other liner shadow. It is equally as pigmented as dream in chocolate and is perfect to darken a liner or to be used as a soft liner on its own

L to R: elevated, sand out from the crowd, peach for the stars, two plums up, pink outside the box, rose to the occasion, view from the taupe, dream in chocolate, don't stand black
The colors all swatch beautifully and translate very well on the eye. My favorite look has been to put sand out from the crowd from lashline to brow bone, pink outside the box lightly on the lid and under the brow, rose to the occasion in the crease, and two plums up in the outer corner but very well blended. I then use a gel liner and smudge it out using dream in chocolate.

This palette is a definite must buy for anyone who is as obsessed with matte eyes as I am! Since the palette is rose/purple toned, the colors will accentuate all eye colors.

Keep coming back for some new looks with the palette!

Hey Y'all!

Hey everyone!

I'm Andie, a city girl who found herself going to school in the great state of Alabama

I am so happy to finally start a beauty and fashion blog! I have wanted to do something along these lines for as long as I can remember. I am constantly buying new products and have accumulated quite the collection of makeup, hair, and various beauty products.

I am currently a student at the University of Alabama, hence the "young and broke" in the title. For as long as I can remember, I have been addicted to buying makeup. I cannot walk out of Ulta or Sephora without a bag in my hand. But since I am a student, I am always looking for deals and steals to make my money go further.

Over the years, my fashion sense has definitely evolved. Like every other child of my generation, I have gone through the overall, gauchos, and high waisted pants phases. Now I'd like to consider myself somewhat fashionable. But as I am on a budget, it can be pretty difficult to find quality, cute pieces for my wardrobe.

So as for what I'll be doing on here; I plan on doing reviews, swatches, and anything else regarding makeup, hair, or other beauty products. Since I'm getting into fashion, I hopefully will do some outfit of the days/nights and styling tips!

Hope you all are excited as I am to finally start this!
